Web Interface to Microsoft Access and SQL Server
ASPdatabase.net
Frequently Asked Questions
Does this software run 100% independently on my server?
Yes. You upload the asp files to your web server and it runs completely, independently between your server and your desktop.

Are there any back-doors into the application?
No. There is no way for ASPdatabase.net or anyone else to gain access to the ASPdatabase.net application on your server. As with normal security practices you should use a username and password that no one else knows or can guess.

Does any part of this application communicate in any way with any other server than mine?

The ASPdatabase.net application communicates with my server only two times. When the application is first installed and when a license key is entered into the application. At no other times is there any communication between the ASPdatabase.net application and any other server other than yours. The purpose of these two communications is for my own internal statistical collection. Your user information is never transmitted to any server other than your own.

Will your application work with existing Access database files, or am I required to create/define the database within your app?
Yes. The application does work with existing Access files. You have to create a new database connection in the application that points to your file. Once you do this you will have access to your tables.

What type of database does the "Create New Table" function generate?
The "Create New Table" function uses a SQL Create statement to create a new table in the existing database. The SQL code used to perform this is the standard code that all database systems use. This function does not create a new database, but rather creates a new table in your existing database.

If I create a new table in your application and download it to my machine, will the new table be accessible in Microsoft Access?
Yes. When you create a table in the ASPdatabase.net application, it is the same as when you create a table within Microsoft Access.

How do I alter the admin password, in the future?
The configuration button at the top right will allow you to change both the username and the password.
